Meet the Staff 2015: Katy

It's that time of year again - summer is coming, and that means amazing LECFamily programs led by equally amazing staff! We have an all-new lineup this year that I think you are going to LOVE! So be on the lookout in the next few weeks so you can get to know our staff even before you arrive! First up, Katy!

Katy Medinas

Hi! My name is Katy Medinas, and I'm from Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina.  I will soon be a senior at East Carolina University where I'm majoring in Religious Studies with a minor in Business Administration (I hope to attend divinity school after I graduate!).  I love to cook, eat, sing, read, watch Netflix, paint, and ride roller coasters whenever I can.

If you were to die today, what would you consider to be your mark on the world?

If I were to die today, I think my mark on the world would encourage people to see the good in humanity and to be compassionate for those they can reach.

Who is your hero, or who has had a large impact on your life and who you are? Why/how?

My grandmother probably had the largest impact on my life.  She taught me how to make banana bread.  We watched murder-mystery shows (Matlock, Columbo, Murder She Wrote, etc.) and ate dinner together when she was sick.  She was the one who first spoke to me about my relationship with God; and she taught me how to live my life by the way she lived hers.

If you could see 24 hours into the future what would you do with this ability?

I would be a minister-superhero.  I would work in the church by day, but be on standby to aid the police and other authorities by night to warn them of the oncoming crimes in the area.

What kind of animal best describes your personality and why?

I think that my personality is best represented by a German Shepherd.  They are loyal, intelligent, and care deeply for others.

Give some love to Katy in the comments as she prepares to love on our families and guests all summer!
